Solar PV Installation at PLTU Sumbagsel-1
Located in Baturaja, Sumatera, PLTU Sumbagsel-1 is one of the region’s mine-mouth coal-fired power plant with a capacity of 300 MW. Due to Indonesia’s commitment to comply with the Paris Climate Agreement, PLTU Sumbagsel-1 is considered one of the last PLN approved coal-fired power plants to be built in the country.
In order to fulfill its environmental obligations, PLTU Sumbagsel-1 entrusted DND to build a solar PV power plant (PLTS) in parallel during the construction of the PLTU itself.
The PLTS consists of 3 ground-mounted PV sites with a total installed capacity of 1.08 MWp, including a unique SSP lettering design. The PLTS generates an estimated annual power output production of 1,519 MWh / year.
